Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'Ants From Up There', the band shifts from post-punk chaos towards more accessible, yet compositionally ambitious, chamber pop and post-rock arrangements. Produced by live sound engineer Sergio Maschetzko to capture the group's stage dynamics, the songs are built on gradual, cathartic crescendos, intricate instrumental interplay, and recurring melodic motifs. The album's profound emotional weight is anchored by its vulnerable, introspective lyrics and serves as the poignant and critically acclaimed final statement from lead vocalist and guitarist Isaac Wood, who departed from the band just days before its release.
