Album Notes & Community Reviews

'For the First Time' merges post-punk and experimental rock with frenetic elements of free jazz and klezmer, showcasing the band's seven-piece lineup through complex, extended compositions. Producer Andy Savours captures their renowned live energy, balancing quiet, tense passages against explosive, cathartic crescendos, while the arrangements feature a dynamic interplay between dual guitars, violin, and saxophone. Frontman Isaac Wood's distinctive vocal delivery, shifting from spoken-word to raw outbursts, channels lyrical themes of modern anxiety, cultural disillusionment, and wry self-reference.
