Originally intended as a farewell album following a grueling 25-year career, the Japanese experimental metal trio instead crafted a devastatingly heavy, rejuvenating masterwork. The record purposefully revisits the sludgy, feedback-drenched drone of their early catalog, balancing terrifying amplifier worship with ethereal, almost shoegaze-adjacent vocal melodies. It ultimately re-energized the band, preventing their planned dissolution.
