Album Notes & Community Reviews

Signing to the legendary indie label Matador, the Californian hardcore heavyweights take a massive, highly polarizing step away from their hyper-violent powerviolence origins. The album heavily channels the raw, driving post-punk and jagged garage rock aesthetics of bands like Wire and The Stooges, notably emphasizing Ross Farrar's newfound melodic, sarcastic vocal delivery. It alienated many traditionalist fans while successfully broadening their appeal across the wider alternative landscape.
