Biography
Ceremony is an American punk band from Rohnert Park, California, known for their consistent sonic evolution. Formed in 2004, the band began with a raw, aggressive powerviolence sound on their debut EP 'Ruined' and the album 'Violence Violence'. Over subsequent releases, they have continually reinvented themselves, exploring hardcore on 'Still Nothing Moves You', post-punk on 'Rohnert Park', and garage rock on 'Zoo'. Later albums like 'The L-Shaped Man' and 'In the Spirit World Now' saw the band delving deeper into new wave and synth-driven post-punk, drawing comparisons to *Joy Division*. They have released music on influential labels including #Bridge 9#, #Matador#, and #Relapse Records#.
