Representing the first album entirely helmed by Valor Kand following Rozz Williams's departure, this record signaled a massive conceptual shift for the deathrock pioneers. Relocating to Europe, the band abandoned their chaotic punk origins for deeply atmospheric, grandiose gothic rock heavily focused on the atrocities of World War II.
