A Softer Focus

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pioneering a style heavily dubbed 'emo ambient,' the Texas-based artist weaves together incredibly intimate, mundane field recordings of everyday life—such as texting, walking, and quiet conversations. These delicate sound collages are layered underneath sparse strings, piano, and notably auto-tuned, whispered vocals. It was critically heralded for injecting profound emotional vulnerability into the often sterile landscape of modern electroacoustic music.
