Pivoting away from the raw, impenetrable static of their most notorious mid-90s output, the Norwegian duo embraced a relatively cleaner production style and heavily emphasized mid-tempo, Celtic Frost-inspired riffing. The resulting mid-era release retains the essential misanthropic coldness of the genre while showcasing a more deliberate, heavy metal-oriented songwriting approach.
