Darkthrone

Darkthrone is a pioneering Norwegian metal band formed in 1986. Initially a death metal act called Black Death, they famously shifted styles to become one of the most influential forces in the second wave of black metal. Their 'unholy trinity' of albums—'A Blaze in the Northern Sky', 'Under a Funeral Moon', and 'Transilvanian Hunger'—defined a raw, lo-fi, and misanthropic sound. Since 1993, the band has operated as a core duo of Fenriz and Nocturno Culto, maintaining a staunchly anti-mainstream ethos. Over their long career on labels like #Peaceville Records# and #Moonfog Productions#, their sound has evolved to incorporate elements of punk, heavy metal, and doom, cementing their legendary status.
