Album Notes & Community Reviews

A monumental performance from one of the most powerful and acclaimed free jazz ensembles of the 1990s. 'Godspelized' finds the David S. Ware Quartet channeling the 'fire music' legacy of John Coltrane and Albert Ayler into a modern context. Ware's tenor saxophone playing is a force of nature, a torrent of sound that is both technically astonishing and deeply spiritual. The album is a key document of the continued vitality and evolution of spiritual free jazz.
