As the primary songwriter for Katatonia, Anders Nyström launched this solo project to explore highly eccentric, fiercely theatrical avenues of extreme metal. The debut is characterized by bizarre, unpredictable tempo shifts, prominent classical keyboard interludes, and heavily fantasy-driven lyrical themes. It provided a highly avant-garde, wildly eclectic counterpoint to the rigid traditionalism of the era's Scandinavian scene.
