Storm of the Light's Bane

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Considered a landmark of the genre, 'Storm of the Light's Bane' seamlessly forged the nascent Gothenburg melodic death metal sound with the cold, atmospheric tenets of black metal. The album's meticulously composed songs are defined by their dual-guitar harmonies, the dynamic shifts between raw aggression and majestic, acoustic-laced passages, and a lyrical fixation on death and darkness. Dan Swanö's engineering provides a clear yet chilling production that enhances the evil, epic scope of the music, solidifying its legacy as a definitive and influential work of 1990s extreme metal.
