Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following a massive lineup overhaul by leader Maurice White, the band's major-label debut introduces the signature elements that would define their impending superstar era. The album establishes their impossibly tight vocal harmonies and intricate, jazz-inflected funk grooves, notably featuring a sophisticated cover of Pete Seeger's 'Where Have All the Flowers Gone'. It is a vital, transitional record establishing the template for sophisticated 1970s R&B.
