Biography
Earth, Wind & Fire are an American band from Chicago, formed by Maurice White in 1969 and fronted for decades by White alongside bassist Verdine White and vocalist Philip Bailey. Their blend of R&B, funk, soul, jazz and disco, powered by a prominent horn section and the contrast between Bailey's falsetto and White's tenor, produced classics including 'September', 'Boogie Wonderland' and 'Shining Star'. The band has sold over 90 million records worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
