In Light of Recent Events

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Representing their highly anticipated fifth studio album and first release in six years, 'In Light of Recent Events' is a powerful garage-punk statement from Melbourne outfit Eddy Current Suppression Ring. The eleven-track record showcases their signature buzzy, raw, and highly angular garage rock, driven by repetitive rhythms and Brendan Suppression's dry, conversational talk-singing. The album balances high-energy, stomping grooves with reflective, anxious, and deeply conscious lyrics that explore modern ideology, urban alienation, and mental health.
