Officially titled 'Edu Lôbo' but widely known as 'Missa breve', this 1973 album is a landmark conceptual work that fuses MPB with sacred choral music and sophisticated, progressive arrangements. The record's B-side is dedicated to a five-part suite structured as a non-clerical mass, showcasing intricate vocal harmonies and orchestration from arranger Lindolfo Gaya, while the A-side features dynamic songs built around Lobo's prominent classical guitar. Produced by Milton Miranda and Dori Caymmi, the album marked a creative pinnacle for Lobo, blending his advanced compositional style with the folkloric roots of Brazilian music.
