Album Notes & Community Reviews

Formed by members of the incredibly technical death metal outfit Kayo Dot, this Boston trio pushes the boundaries of extreme music into pure, academic avant-garde territory. The album violently clashes the agonizingly slow, detuned riffs of extreme sludge metal with completely atonal, free-jazz horn improvisations and rigid contemporary classical serialism. It is a deeply unsettling, highly challenging auditory experience completely devoid of traditional melody or structural logic.
