Album Notes & Community Reviews

Jeff Lynne successfully fused his love of Beatlesque pop melodies with massive string arrangements to deliver a spectacular, chart-topping commercial breakthrough. 'A New World Record' is a remarkably lush, fiercely melodic symphonic rock classic, overflowing with wonderfully uplifting, deeply playful pop hooks and beautifully bittersweet orchestral grandeur.
