Eldorado
by Electric Light Orchestra
'Eldorado' is the band's first complete concept album, centering on a Walter Mitty-esque character who escapes into fantasy dream worlds. This was the first ELO album to utilize a full orchestra, a significant shift from the group's prior string overdubs, with conductor Louis Clark joining Jeff Lynne and Richard Tandy in arranging the extensive orchestral and choral parts. The resulting fusion of rock instrumentation with symphonic textures solidified the band's signature sound and marked their commercial breakthrough in the United States, yielding the hit single "Can't Get It Out of My Head".
