Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by Paul Buckmaster's incredibly lavish, swirling string orchestrations, Elton John's fourth studio album is a dark, sprawling masterpiece of progressive pop. 'Madman Across the Water' features deeply cryptic, heavily poetic lyrics from Bernie Taupin, anchored perfectly by wonderfully lush, fiercely passionate piano rock and beautifully melancholic melodies.
