Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Unhalfbricking' captures Fairport Convention at a pivotal transition, documenting the band's shift from American-influenced folk-rock to a distinctly English sound by blending Bob Dylan covers with original compositions and landmark traditional arrangements. The album is defined by Sandy Denny鈥檚 ascendant lead vocals on signature tracks like her own "Who Knows Where the Time Goes?" and by the band's electrified, eleven-minute interpretation of the traditional ballad "A Sailor's Life," a performance that, along with the introduction of Dave Swarbrick's fiddle, became a cornerstone for the British folk-rock movement.
