Album Notes & Community Reviews
The first of his three albums for the Leon Russell-led Shelter label successfully reinvented the veteran blues guitarist for a rock-oriented, young audience. The production is crisp and punchy, capturing King's incendiary, high-energy guitar style alongside a supportive cast of talented, rock-influenced studio musicians. It successfully bridged the gap between his authentic Texas-blues roots and the rising wave of early 70s blues-rock popularity.
