Album Notes & Community Reviews

Abandoning their lo-fi, 4-track tape origins for a highly polished, stadium-ready studio sound, Robert Pollard sought a broader commercial audience with this release. 'Isolation Drills' features muscular power-pop guitars and soaring melodies that belie the intensely dark, introspective lyricism. Written during a period of marital collapse and severe alcohol abuse, it remains one of the band's most emotionally exposed and focused efforts.
