Album Notes & Community Reviews
Originating as a limited cassette release during the band's formative years in the Baltimore underground, 'Mixtape Vol. 1' presents a raw, unpolished iteration of their rhythmic experimentation. The project captures early explorations into repetitive, interlocking grooves heavily indebted to West African music and avant-garde minimalism. Its lo-fi recording quality highlights a fierce, DIY energy that would continually inform their studio approach.
