Horse Lords

Horse Lords are an experimental rock quartet from Baltimore known for their rigorous and hypnotic sound. The band—comprising guitar, bass, saxophone, and drums—is defined by its use of polyrhythmic structures and just intonation, a tuning system that requires custom-modified instruments. Drawing on a wide array of influences including krautrock, minimalism, and West African music, their compositions are both complex and propulsive. After their 2012 debut, they gained wider recognition with albums like 'Interventions' and 'The Common Task' on the #Northern Spy# label, later releasing 'Comradely Objects' on #RVNG Intl.#. Their music explores the intersection of structured composition and intense, driving performance.
