Album Notes & Community Reviews
Signaling their dramatic departure from glam-rock affectations, Japan's 'Quiet Life' firmly established the incredibly sleek, synthesizer-driven template for the New Romantic movement. The album is a profoundly atmospheric, wonderfully lush fusion of David Sylvian's detached, Roxy Music-inspired croon and Mick Karn's sinuous fretless bass, dripping with deeply melancholic, nocturnal elegance.
