Album Notes & Community Reviews

In one of his more deeply personal late-career recordings, the pioneer of American Primitivism offers a haunting, reflective meditation on his past. 'Old Girlfriends & Other Horrible Memories' presents Fahey's signature acoustic fingerpicking in a remarkably unhurried, lethargic state. The instrumental compositions exude a palpable sense of melancholy and bittersweet nostalgia, stripping away the flashy technicality of his youth for emotional resonance.
