Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded at Decca's West Hampstead studios with producer Mike Vernon, the album captured Clapton's Les Paul through a cranked Marshall combo, a sound that reshaped British guitar playing. The cover photograph of the band reading a Beano comic gave it its nickname, 'Ramblin' on My Mind' carried Clapton's first lead vocal, and the record reached the UK top ten while its guitarist was already leaving to form Cream.
