Obsidian

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released alongside a visual art installation inspired by the Fagradalsfjall volcanic eruption, the Sigur Rós frontman delivers a deeply immersive, glacial ambient record. 'Obsidian' moves away from the kinetic pop of his prior solo work, favoring massive choral swells, environmental field recordings, and sustained electronic drones. It acts as an incredibly cinematic, purely atmospheric ode to the turbulent Icelandic landscape.
