Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released under the heavy censorship of the Estado Novo regime, 'Eu vou ser como a toupeira' is a masterclass in cryptic, politically subversive songwriting. The artist frames his philosophical and surreal lyricism within intricate, deeply rhythmic acoustic arrangements that border on chamber folk. It stands as a brave, culturally monumental artistic statement leading up to the Carnation Revolution.
