Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in London to evade the oppressive censorship of the Estado Novo regime, the iconic Portuguese troubadour delivered one of his most profoundly moving works. The intricately arranged acoustic songs, deeply rooted in Fado and traditional folk, are vehicles for powerful, poetic resistance and sociopolitical longing. The record solidified his role as the paramount musical voice of the Portuguese anti-fascist movement.
