Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava

Born from week-long improvisational jam sessions, 'Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava' is structured around the seven modes of the major scale, with each track exploring a different mode, tempo, and key signature. The resulting sound is a fluid and expansive blend of psychedelic rock, jazz-funk, and progressive rock, marked by extended instrumental workouts featuring prominent flute, saxophone, and layered keyboards alongside dynamic guitar interplay. This highly collaborative process, where lyrics were penned by the group after the music was assembled, produced a critically acclaimed work that won the ARIA Award for Best Rock Album.
