The debut album from Sam Shalabi's large orchestral ensemble, 'Against the Day' is a sprawling and ambitious work of avant-garde jazz and psychedelic rock. The album combines structured compositions with free improvisation, drawing on a wide range of influences including Middle Eastern music, spiritual jazz, and noise.
