The French electronic ensemble delivered a profoundly terrifying, highly conceptual descent into purely atmospheric dark ambient music. Thematically inspired by the deep-sea explorations of an ancient philosopher, the completely beatless compositions utilize incredibly dense, pitch-black analog synthesizers and highly unsettling violin manipulation by Paul Haslinger. It remains a critically revered, deeply cinematic achievement in establishing overwhelming, subterranean dread.
