Album Notes & Community Reviews
Standing completely apart from the self-serious nature of their Scandinavian contemporaries, the Belgian duo unleashed a highly bizarre, profoundly ugly black metal record[cite: 1]. 'De Totem' is characterized by exceptionally poor, noisy lo-fi production, agonizing doom metal pacing, and intensely vulgar, openly alcohol-fueled vocal performances that border on the utterly surreal[cite: 1].
