Album Notes & Community Reviews
A crowning achievement in the French folk revival, structured conceptually around the twelve months of the agricultural year. The ensemble meshed authentic medieval instrumentation鈥攍ike the hurdy-gurdy and crumhorn鈥攚ith modern electric production and gorgeous vocal harmonies. It serves as a hauntingly beautiful preservation of provincial French folklore filtered through a 1970s progressive lens.
