Album Notes & Community Reviews

Returning to a completely unamplified, purely acoustic setup at the iconic New York jazz club, the trio strips away their signature heavy funk and organ grooves. 'Tonic' relies heavily on Billy Martin's subtle, intricate drum work and John Medeski's dazzling piano improvisation, revealing the group's deep roots in traditional post-bop.
