Album Notes & Community Reviews

Taking a defiantly heavy turn, the pioneering Georgia funk-rock ensemble adopted a crushing, metallic sound for this aptly titled comeback record. 'Black Radio Won't Play This Record' directly addresses the racial segregation of American radio formats, pairing Joyce 'Baby Jean' Kennedy's massive soul vocals with thick, groove-metal riffing. The album is a brilliant, criminally underrated precursor to the impending alternative metal boom.
