Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking a return to a full-band dynamic for the first time since 'Skeleton Tree', 'Wild God' exchanges the ambient sparseness of its predecessor for a sonically layered and joyously cathartic energy. Produced by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis with mixing by Dave Fridmann, the album builds upon piano and synthesizer foundations with the reinvigorated rock force of the Bad Seeds, frequently swelling into ecstatic, gospel-inflected crescendos. This musical uplift mirrors the album's central themes of hard-won optimism and spiritual release, creating a sound that is both complex in its rich imagery and infectiously buoyant.
