Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally conceived solely as a personal studio outlet for prolific Swedish multi-instrumentalist Dan Swan枚, 'The Breathing Shadow' fully embraces a melancholic, highly synth-driven gothic rock aesthetic. Representing a stark, intentional departure from his heavier death metal work with Edge of Sanity, the album draws heavy inspiration from bands like The Sisters of Mercy while subtly injecting progressive song structures. It served as the crucial stylistic foundation for what would eventually evolve into a full-fledged progressive rock band in later years.
