Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pioneering the Mittelalter-Rock movement, the Hamburg ensemble's debut album resurrects traditional German folk songs and Minnesang poetry through a modernized, acoustic-rock lens. Utilizing a vast array of historical instrumentation, including crumhorns, recorders, and bouzoukis alongside modern rhythm sections, the group cultivated an incredibly authentic, pastoral medieval atmosphere. The project served as a foundational influence on the massive wave of medieval folk-metal bands that would emerge in Germany decades later.
