Achim Reichel

Biography

Achim Reichel is a Hamburg singer, songwriter and guitarist who fronted beat pioneers *The Rattles* in the 1960s, made krautrock landmarks as *A.R. and Machines* with 'Die grüne Reise', then rebuilt his career singing German shanties and poetry from 'Dat Shanty Alb'm' onward. His 1991 hit 'Aloha Heja He' remains his signature song. Few German musicians have sustained so many distinct careers, from beat to psychedelia to folk, across six decades.
