Album Notes & Community Reviews

After a hiatus, George Clinton revived the Parliament moniker with 'Up for the Down Stroke', effectively crystallizing the dense, infectious P-Funk formula. The album shifts away from the heavier acid-rock of Funkadelic, emphasizing tightly arranged, horn-driven dancefloor grooves and massive, multi-layered vocal chants that would dominate the decade.
