Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the band's official studio debut, 'Junta' introduces the group's highly technical, improvisation-heavy fusion of progressive rock and jazz elements. The record features several complex, multi-part compositions like 'You Enjoy Myself' and 'Divided Sky' that would become legendary staples of their sprawling live shows. It establishes the eccentric compositional voice of Trey Anastasio alongside the group's distinctively loose yet virtuosic interplay.
