An unbelievably massive undertaking commissioned by the city of Paris, avant-garde composer Rhys Chatham arranged and conducted an orchestra of 400 electric guitarists inside the Sacré-Cœur basilica. The recording captures an overwhelming, deeply resonant drone symphony that utilizes the cavernous acoustics of the church to build a transcendent, harmonic wall of sound.
