Album Notes & Community Reviews

A stark departure from his purely instrumental steel-string excursions, 'Basho Sings' introduced Robbie Basho's booming, operatic vocals to his complex acoustic tapestry. Often polarizing to listeners, the album is a deeply personal, intensely spiritual exploration of American primitivism and Eastern modalities. It stands as one of the most eccentric entries in the Takoma Records catalog.
