Album Notes & Community Reviews

'For Your Pleasure' refines Roxy Music's experimental art-rock with a more elaborate and focused production, balancing avant-garde flourishes with a newly concentrated power. Bryan Ferry’s songwriting delves into themes of dark glamour and modern disillusionment, as on the sinister "In Every Dream Home a Heartache," set against a sonic backdrop featuring inventive studio manipulation and driving rock rhythms. As the final album with synthesist Brian Eno, its sophisticated blend of pop accessibility and experimentalism, including his signature tape-loop effects, secured its place as a definitive and influential glam rock statement.
