Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake' is a bifurcated work, presenting a first side of eclectic songs that span proto-hard rock, soulful ballads, and Cockney music hall singalongs. Its second side is a complete psychedelic fairy-tale suite about a character named Happiness Stan searching for the missing half of the moon. The conceptual narrative is uniquely held together by the surreal, nonsensical 'Unwinese' narration of comedian Stanley Unwin, cementing the album's place as a singular, whimsical touchstone of British psychedelia.
