Album Notes & Community Reviews
Soundgarden鈥檚 'Superunknown' expanded the band鈥檚 heavy, metallic sound by incorporating a diverse range of influences including psychedelia, pop, and non-Western music. Producer Michael Beinhorn helped craft an expansive sonic landscape using layered instrumentation, experimental guitar tunings, and complex time signatures. Chris Cornell's dark, introspective lyrics explore themes of depression, suicide, and alienation, a combination which resulted in the band's definitive commercial and critical breakthrough.
