Album Notes & Community Reviews

Before completely retreating to the studio as a duo utilizing rotating session players, Donald Fagen and Walter Becker recorded this brilliant, highly eclectic album with their actual touring band. 'Countdown to Ecstasy' is a wonderfully quirky, intensely melodic pop-rock triumph, matching remarkably technical, highly rhythmic jazz-rock precision with deeply sarcastic, fiercely playful lyrical cynicism.
